After changing the oil in my mom's Audi I figured I'd give it a try. I also found out it isn't possible on my 335i.. but Skychismo already tested an E9x
All new Audi's are coming with keyless ignition anyways and there's no way you're hitting the button on the center console.

You can use the key, but I don't know why you would. It was months before I figured out what that slot on the dashboard on my S5 was for. Maybe for a valet? I use it to not confuse the guys at the car wash but they see enough cars that it's probably not necessary.

they're actually getting rid of the key slot entirely in new BMWs and Audi's, if you look on the A6 or 5 Series there is an RF sensor to read the key close up in case the key or car can't detect each other from a distance. Keyless entry and start is where its at; its too bad the feature is broken on my BMW, I looked specifically for a car with the option.
